About this policy
Volt Agency (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a Wix web design, automation and SEO agency based in Wollongong, NSW. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information through voltagency.com.au and when we work with you.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). By using our website or giving us your information, you agree to it being handled as described here.
What we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
- Contact details — your name, email address, phone number and business name.
- Project details you share in our forms or brief — such as your current website, business description, goals, brand preferences, budget and the best time to reach you.
- Booking details when you schedule a call with us.
- Records of our emails, calls and messages with you.
- Billing details needed to invoice you, if you become a client.
- Technical and usage information — such as your IP address, browser, device and the pages you visit — collected through cookies and analytics tools.
How we collect it
Most information comes straight from you: when you fill in our contact form or project brief, book a call, email or phone us, or work with us on a project. Some technical information is collected automatically when you browse our website.
When we build or manage a website for you, you may give us access to your Wix account or other systems that hold your customers’ information. We only use that access to do the work you’ve asked for, and we treat anything we see there as confidential.
You don’t have to give us your personal information, but if you don’t we may not be able to respond to your enquiry or provide our services.
How we use it
We use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and prepare quotes and proposals;
- plan, deliver and support the services you engage us for;
- send invoices and manage our accounts;
- understand how our website is used so we can improve it; and
- send you occasional updates about our services, where you’ve agreed to hear from us. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run our business, and only as much as they need:
- Wix, which receives and stores our website form submissions and hosts our blog;
- Google, which provides our business email (Google Workspace) and website analytics through Google Tag Manager;
- TidyCal, which manages call bookings;
- our website hosting provider;
- contractors who help us deliver your project, under confidentiality obligations; and
- our accountants, lawyers and other professional advisers.
We may also disclose information where the law requires or authorises it.
Overseas storage
Some of these providers, including Wix and Google, store data on servers outside Australia, such as in the United States. We choose reputable providers and take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies — small files stored in your browser — and Google Tag Manager, which may load Google Analytics and similar measurement tools. These tell us things like which pages are visited and how people find our site. They don’t tell us who you are.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Parts of the site may not work as intended if cookies are disabled.
How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. That includes using reputable, secure platforms, limiting access to the people who need it, and protecting our accounts with strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
We keep information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires — for example, tax records — and then delete or de-identify it.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it’s wrong or out of date. Contact us using the details below and we’ll respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. If we can’t give you access, we’ll explain why.
Complaints
If you think we’ve mishandled your personal information, please contact us first and we’ll do our best to resolve it within 30 days.
If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
